Home Again
Break out. Bread turned butter side up. Expose yourself a thousand times to the sun. To stare through a window into an empty memory. The garden as a cosmological sketch. The quiet order of things. Sunday waiting. A question posed to the split dough. Vapor enveloping. Hovering over the waters. In the depths of the flowerbeds aiding life.
Faun's late afternoon. Letting the hands rest. Bubbling foam. The stagnant inner waters. The stagnant being. The circling of mythic time. A notation in the cake. To leave and to come. The smell under the jewel. Carefully walking to tread the apples. Sleep. With love latent to be. Unconsciously reflect.
Family is life flowing through you from the one you received it from to the one you give it to. Home is the place where that life is intensely realized in moments you hadn't noticed before.

I wanted to be a journalist but was never accepted to study journalism at a university. Instead, I studied tourism and economy and made money by writing for various magazines while traveling. It
wasn´t very good writing but it paid. Later I realized that although I enjoyed traveling I hated studying and doing economics. I finished my studies and went off to Denmark to learn photography. Here I learned how to shoot and develop black and white film. For the next couple of years, I worked at receptions in hostels cleaning floors and toilets during night shifts and taking pictures during the day.

In 2012 I started studying photography at University in Ostrava and in 2018 I got my master's degree in advertising photography in Zlín. All the while I got paid for writing but I also worked for a photography studio (mostly sending emails) and as a VFX artist in Prague. The hardest and most challenging thing I ever did was my PhD between 2020 and 2024 (still not finished as of this writing). I have been teaching photography in Prague since 2022. During my internship in Paris, I wrote a book of letters for my wife. Now I wish someone would pay me for reading.
Adam Kencki's photographs may at first glance seem like a
quiet meditation on simple things and moments of life, but they are in fact an
endless chain of restless disturbances. His range of genre is elusive and the
subject of immediate interest unpredictable. He chooses the medium of photography among others deliberately,
but at the same time he is driven by the creation of images and motivated to his
own life.
Exhibitions of his photographic images are thus free-growing organisms, where the memory alternates the idea.

This actually
I photograph everything that I find interesting, most often it is something personal, something that has a meaning to me. I feel that this website should just be a stream of photos from since I started taking pictures until most recently, but people find it confusing and expect to see individual projects or series. I see my photography as a continuous flow of things.
